My association with Eugene is a decade long and I cannot now imagine living anywhere else. My reasons are those that I hear so often from others who live here—the amazing sense of community, having nature (whether that be beach, mountain, or forest) seemingly on my doorstep, the walkability of the city, and the perfect pace of life. I grew up in Wiltshire in rural England, not far from Bath and Stonehenge, and spent many days as a teenager on construction sites with my father who was a contractor. I have had a fascination with homes ever since. Friendly Street Market is an independently owned grocery store and neighborhood gathering spot in the heart of south Eugene's Friendly Street neighborhood. We specialize in natural, organic, local, and specialty food and beverages. Our store makes a big effort to reduce waste by offering refillable containers, bulk bins, discount produce shelf, a repository for used cooking oil, and more. We love the work Toolbox Project does for our community, including waste reduction. They are a wonderful resource, and we are lucky to have them in our backyard.
Here are reasons you may not be able to renew your checked-out ToolBox Project tool, plus some information about what to do about it.
This video offers some tips on how to clean out an electric lawnmower. These tips work for all ToolBox Project lawnmowers. Thanks for returning tools in as good (or even better!) condition than you borrowed them!
This video is for ToolBox Project members to learn how to reserve tools on their own through their ToolBox Project account in MyTurn. Reservations are not required to borrow tools from ToolBox Project, but it can be helpful to reserve in-demand tools.
In 2016, our all-volunteer crew spent 56 days building Lane County's only tool lending library. See the slideshow below to view the build process, and scroll down for a list of the volunteers and community partners who made this happen.
