Annual Fundraising Campaign

Update January 24, 2023

Thank you to our supporters and volunteers, we received more than double the amount of our original goal, with a grand total of $4,670 for the campaign. We met our stretch goals, purchasing many tools from our wish list, that we will share with our wonderful community.
We also have a few T-shirts available to purchase at the ToolBox Project for $20 each. These beautiful cotton T-shirts are printed locally by Threadbare Print House using high quality, sustainably minded, water-based screen printing.

🎉 Volunteer and Supporter Celebration 🎉

Join us on Tuesday, January 24, and raise a glass to celebrate our phenomenal volunteers and supporters. We have a lot on tap for this event, and for every glass of soda, beer, wine, cider, or to-go beer, Falling Sky Pour House and Delicatessen will donate $1 to the ToolBox Project.

We are excited to share the following with you at this event:
  • Unboxing of the new tools that were purchased, thanks to our supporters helping us to meet our stretch goals.
  • Unveiling of the new ToolBox Project T-shirt. A few extras in various sizes will be available for a $20 donation.
  • Meet volunteers and supporters who share your passion for the ToolBox Project.
  • The reveal of the Grand Total that you generously donated toward our Annual Fundraising Campaign.

Update December 30, 2022

Update December 12, 2022

Thank you to each of you who already helped us reach our initial fundraising goal of $2022 for 2022! Your donations will continue to provide Lane County residents access to shared tools and support our mission of empowering people, and building community.

We have set stretch goals to raise an additional $900 before our campaign ends on January 15, 2023, all of which will go directly to purchasing new tools for our inventory! These are tools that members have requested, tools that will fill a need in our inventory, and tools that will continue to serve our entire community through the power of sharing. For each $300 we raise beyond our initial goal, we will be able to purchase:

  • First $300: a tiller
  • Second $300: a measuring wheel, a Slotted Drive Shaft hammer drill, and a cross-line laser level
  • Third $300: a T-Fence post puller, a two-person manual auger, and a lawn roller

Please join us with a donation to the ToolBox Project that will go directly towards new tools that you can access to maintain your homes and businesses, to complete projects, and improve your neighborhood!

We share tools, skills, and knowledge to empower people and build community. That’s the simple mission that keeps the ToolBox Project moving forward. As a ToolBox supporter you are that community and we want to thank you for growing with us this past year.

In 2022 more than 500 households
used our tools more than 3500 times

Together we shared lawn mowers, tile saws, and air compressors; tools used to maintain and improve our homes, yards, and businesses; and to complete projects from door trim and paver patios to camper van conversions!

This year we have:
  • added 217 tools (and counting) to our active inventory of more than 1,400 tools. That includes a brand new, more powerful power washer, a 16-foot extension ladder, and an appliance dolly. Check out our growing inventory online, or stop by in person and say hi!
  • continued tool maintenance and upkeep, ensuring that the tools you access are useful and safe.
  • partnered with the City of Eugene and the University of Oregon Outdoor Program on three Fix-It Fairs, featuring electronics repair, textiles and sports equipment mending, tool and knife sharpening, small appliance repair, and more, and raising awareness of repair as an option while diverting waste from the landfill.
  • collaborated with the Friendly Area Neighbors Transportation Team to provide tools for a June Prune event, helping neighbors keep their sidewalks properly cleared of vegetation for people walking and rolling in their neighborhood.

As we look forward to what's next,
we ask you to join us once again
in supporting the ToolBox Project.

We will be:
  • adding new tools to inventory,
  • partnering with both the City of Eugene and Lane County to schedule Fix-It Fairs throughout the county,
  • and continuing to provide people the tools they need for their projects, without having to buy, store, and maintain them at home or work.
You are the ToolBox Project—YOU are what keeps us sharing, building, and growing together, and your support is needed to continue to provide Lane County residents access to shared tools to maintain and improve their homes and neighborhoods—empowering people, and building community.
